Every Tuesday night beginning August 17, all local High School Tennis Players are invited to participate in Round Robin Tournament. Matches will begin at 5:00 p.m. at Rip Hewes Tennis Center. The Fall Tennis Clinic for DHS and PCS Tennis Players will begin on Monday, Aug. 16 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Cost for the Clinic will be $30.00 per month( 4 sessions). PCS Tennis Award Winners 2010
The End-of-Year Honors for the Providence Tennis Teams were announced on Monday, May 17 at the Annual Tennis Banquet. The Girl’s Singles Player of the Year were Co-Winner’s. Abbie Lynn Pickett, the #2 Singles Player and Summer Strickland, the #3 Singles Player, both finished with identical 12-3 Records. Both Players are Sophmore’s. Abbie Lynn and Summer also took home the Doubles Team of the Year Award. They finished with a 12-2 Record in Doubles Play.
The Boy’s Team also had a multiple Winner. Brennan Colley a Freshman finished his Singles Season with an 11-1 Record to win the Boy’s Singles Player of the Year Award. He then teamed with another Sophmore , Will Mahone, to win the Doubles Team of the Year Award with a 9-2 Record.

The Providence Boy’s and Girl’s Tennis Teams just completed the 2010 Season on April 21 by participating in the Section Tennis Tournament. Both Teams made History this year. The Girl’ Team, after getting no points in the 2009 Season, gathered 23 points at this year’s Tournament. Providence’s #4 Singles Player, Sara Carlisle made it to the finals at the #4 positon and the #2 Doubles Team of Summer Strickland and Abbie Lynn Pickett made the finals at the #2 Doubles position.
The Providence Boy’s also made History as they won 5 points in their initial season. Providence #1 Boy’s Player, Brennan Colley, won 1 match against T.R. Miller and in the second round, played the best match of the year againt Bayside’s Alexander Dyas. Brennan and partner Will Mahone also won their 1st round match in Doubles against Cottage Hill. With only 1 Senior on either team the future looks bright for the Eagles Tennis Program.
